Inspirador images from LightRain
On June 6, in New York City, Ned and Gabby had their engagement images taken by Lilet Hamp of LightRain Images, a Chandler, Arizona based wedding photographer. After a week of drizzling rain, the day of the engagement shoot was perfect and with great excitement the small group toured from one cool location to another. Gabby and Ned will be getting married at Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix this fall.
Ned and Gabby met during their sophomore year at Stanford University, in Palo Alto, California while in the economics program and both were student athletes. Ned is a golfer and Gabby a tennis player who played on the pro tour for a couple of years. Now both live in New York City and work in the financial industry, Ned for Bank of America and Gabby at the Gerson Lehman Group. After several years of dating and enjoying the sites around Manhattan, Ned proposed to Gabby on a visit back to their old haunts in Palo Alto. Ned and Gabby will be married in Arizona, where Gabby’s parents live, but wanted their engagement images to capture their special times of dating and living around midtown Manhattan. Lilet Hamp, LightRain Images principal, captured all the special moments in Central Park, Columbus Circle and Rockefeller Center. She remarked, "Ned and Gabby are very sweet and a down to earth couple. They enjoy living and working in the city but they plan to move to back to Ned's native Boston to raise a family someday. Capturing their life in New York during their dating days was definitely a memorable time. Midtown is bustling with life and interesting scenes and everywhere you go, there are unique locations and backdrops which made the shoot so interesting, fun and different." Thank you Gabby and Ned, we are so looking forward to your wedding in November!
Nathan (Nate) and Carissa have one of the most unique engagement stories that they will be able to tell their future children and grandchildren. It was back in high school that Nate realized that Carissa was the one for him and that one day he would marry her. Unfortunately, there was a lot going on in his life and enlisting in the military was a major life changing event. Also being deployed in Iraq 7,500 miles away in the 56th MP Company as a military police specialist was taking him further from Carissa and his hometown of Chandler, Arizona. In Iraq, Nate had his hands full. He and his men were attempting to train Iraqi police to help secure the country while street fighting, IEDs and skirmishes with Al-Qaeda demanded intense focus on his mission. All the while Carissa kept coming to mind and thoughts of a unique wedding proposal. Then one day in Sadam Hussein's home town of Tikrit, in Sadam's mother's palace, the dust was so thick on the marble floor that he could write in it and Nate decided to write a proposal in the dusty sand. Nate's buddy, Kenny Lindholm captured the moment. About a month later, Nate was able to take a two week leave and brought the pictures back to show Carissa. He made sure the proposal picture was on the bottom of the stack. Carissa recounted the story as she saw the last picture, "After a moment of staring at the picture, realizing what was happening, I literally said, "Is this for right now?" and when I finally looked up at him he was down on his knee with the ring and asked me to marry him!"
Yesterday afternoon Jennifer visited LightRain Images to have her high school senior photos taken. We started in the LightRain Images studio, changing backgrounds and varying the lighting to capture Jennifer's best angles and features. It wasn't difficult to make her look stunning. She has a natural beauty and grace about her and she was very comfortable and relaxed in front of the cameras.
After several outfit changes and several hundred images captured in the studio, we were off to find some interesting scenery at the Ocotillo Golf Resort in Chandler, Arizona. We knew we would find many beautiful backdrops and water features there because of the many weddings photographed by LightRain Images at the resort. We weren't disappointed and had a great time in the lush green grass shooting in front of the water falls, bridges and lakes that surround the beautiful club house. Jennifer was a natural, looking and posing like a model in numerous settings. She was also a quick change artist, changing stylish outfits in just a couple of minutes. Thanks Jennifer. We had a great time and captured some breathtaking imagery!
Sunil Nair, a native of Chandler Arizona married Supriya Ramsinghani from Scottsdale, Arizona. The couple was married at the Millennium Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona on Saturday, March 28. In the East Indian culture, the arrival of the groom is a big part of the East Indian wedding and is performed to great fanfare and in dramatic fashion. In keeping with the tradition of the grand entrance, Sunil decided to arrive by a helicopter. Three LightRain Images Wedding Photographers were there to capture the dramatic scene. Sunil and Supriya’s 250 guests were amazed to look up and see a sleek helicopter approaching the reception area and with whirling blades thundering. It then gently touched down on the lush grass.
For Sunil and Supriya this James Bond movie type entrance was right in keeping with their adventurous life styles. The couple met through friends and during their dating years has adventured to Greece and Italy. Supriya is also a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and skydives for fun. Sunil loves the outdoors and is an avid snowboarder.
Sunil and Surpiya’s guests included close friends and relatives who traveled from around the world to see the couple and enjoy the exclusive, intimate lakeside boutique resort with the McDowell mountains backdrop.
In the late afternoon sun, the couple made their entrance in the breathtaking surroundings as the LightRain Images Chandler photographers captured the emotional moments.
After the ceremony, the wedding party enjoyed the perfect weather and stunning views of the lake and the McDowell mountains, sipping cocktails as the sun set behind Camelback Mountain. The happy couple, wedding party and family had formal portraits taken on the lawn then moved into the Lakeside Pavilion to enjoy the sumptuous banquet prepared by India Palace Catering. "It was a wonderful day and beautiful wedding” Said Krista Bossie, Catering Sales Manager at the Millennium. “Supriya and Sunil were great to work with. Their friends and families were a pleasure to have with us at the Millennium Resort Scottsdale.” She added.
The couple has planned a honeymoon in the French Polynesian, with visits to Bora Bora, Tahiti and Moorea, after which they will spend a week in New Zealand.
